Okay, so ya'll remember Transformation Idol, right? I've only done the victory posters for the event for the last four runs. Well, the fifth one ended recently, so I was back to bat. This time, it had a video game related theme. So I decided it was only fitting to have a video game related victory poster for an ending. I mean, why not, right?

For a while, I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to parody. Then I thought about how TFI brought together a whole slew of individuals all going for the grand prize...like a fighting game! And when it comes to fighting games, you can't get any more old school than Street Fighter, II specifically.

Jennifer Dark, Ninja-Brad's girl, is this Idol's champion, so based on what War told me about this time, what with a small group practically at war with each other for the number two spot, because Jennifer had a death grip on the number one and wouldn't let go, I decided to poke a little put at that by having the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placers at each other's throats, with Kelsey, the 5th place, waiting to pick the bones, y'see. As for Jenn herself, now she is Ryu...kinda...

(By the way, I didn't forget to shade Kelsey. She's a shadow, shade doesn't apply to her.)

I have to say, quite honestly, that those two 'anels' are the best pixel art I have done in a long, long, LONG time. I mean, WOW. I am amazed.

However, I was a fool to keep to the pencil tool for that bigger picture. UGH. Such thick lineart. Matched with the colored lines and so close up, it just does NOT work. The only good to come out of this is that at least in doing it, I now see that I should never do it again. And THAT is the point of mistakes, ladies and gentlemen!

I'm glad Jennifer has such a simple design, it really sped things along. Plus, I got a little more tablet borne practice out of this, so it wasn't a total loss.
